Under the new lockdown rules, communal worship in church is not allowed. Recent government guidance allows small-scale, outdoor Remembrance Sunday Services to go ahead:
Thus, no Remembrance Sunday Service will take place in church this year. A shortened service will take place beside the war memorial from 10.55am, with villagers joining in the two-minute silence on their doorsteps. A Zoom service will take place at 11.15am.
· If you wish to attend the service beside the war memorial, please ‘sign up’ in advance by noon on Saturday 7th November, by contacting George Straughen on (01289) 382386.
· To help us keep numbers to a minimum, please consider taking part in a ‘dispersed commemoration’, by standing on your doorstep a few minutes before 11.00am, waiting for the church clock to chime, and then keeping the two-minute silence with everyone else across the village. (You might be able to hear the bugle sounding the end of the silence.)
· If you would like to join in the Zoom service, please send an email by noon on Saturday 7th November to Rob Kelsey, robert.josephkelsey@live.com.
